Dear all.Hopefully someone from valve sees this and can help me. Recently a friend that I have spent a lot of time playing games with has died. I would speak to him for hours on end in teamspeak. Since I didn't know him personally I don't really have anything to remember him apart from his VK page by despite spending so much time with him.
When I quit rust I rage removed almost everyone on my friends list including him. This meant that I hadn't messaged him for quite a while until today when I found out he died. Is there any possible way to see old chat history just to reminisce and remember someone that was very dear to me.Thanks.
Sorry for your loss. I've also lost people I've never met but had spent countless hours talking to through chat or voice, both to life and death. The mobile app does often have old chat history, but it doesn't seem to be able to reload things that are too old.If you're anything like me, and considering you're asking this you seem to be, then as hard as it is, take it from someone who's been dwelling on the same for about five years - let go; you'll be better off. Looking back on the conversations can be nice, but it can also cause a crippling depression which is impossible to get out of when you have nobody to talk to about it. I still have the messages, still occasionally look, and still get more damaged by them every time. One dead, one hates me so much we're on FB but won't talk yet they won't just block me, and others disappeared and IDK what happened but there's no way to get ahold of them any more.
